Storm Dave Adverse Weather

Volunteers from North Staffordshire Civil Response worked tirelessly over the Easter weekend as Storm Dave battered North Staffordshire, clearing road obstructions and helping keep communities safe.

Over the Easter weekend, volunteers from North Staffordshire Civil Response were deployed across North Staffordshire as Storm Dave brought severe conditions to the area. At the height of the storm, teams faced challenging environments including strong winds, heavy rainfall, and hazardous road conditions. Despite this, volunteers remained operational throughout, providing a visible and reassuring presence within local communities while responding to emerging incidents. A key focus of the deployment was ensuring the safety and accessibility of the local road network. Crews attended numerous obstructions, including fallen tree branches, debris, and other storm-related hazards that posed a risk to motorists. Volunteers worked efficiently to clear affected routes and restore safe passage. Particular attention was given to rural and exposed areas, where the impact of the storm was most severe. By prioritising key routes and responding rapidly to incidents, the team helped minimise disruption and reduce the risk of further incidents during the peak of the adverse weather. The dedication and resilience shown by all volunteers over the Easter period highlights the organisation’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities during times of need. North Staffordshire Civil Response remains ready to assist whenever severe weather or local incidents impact the area, working to keep people safe and connected.
