Major Fire Incident in Sandyford and Goldenhill

North Staffordshire Civil Response deployed to the major Sandyford and Goldenhill fire on 13 August 2026, supporting residents, assisting emergency services and providing scene safety support until approximately 1am.

North Staffordshire Civil Response (NSCR) deployed to the major fire incident in the Sandyford and Goldenhill area of Stoke-on-Trent on the evening of Thursday 13 August 2026, providing direct community and scene support throughout the incident. Our volunteers attended following the escalation of the incident and worked alongside emergency service personnel, providing practical assistance where required and helping to maintain the safety and welfare of residents affected by the fire. During our deployment, NSCR volunteers: Provided guidance and reassurance to residents affected by the incident. Assisted residents with accessing appropriate support and information. Provided scene support focused on the safety of residents, members of the public and responding personnel. Assisted Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service where appropriate and requested. Helped manage members of the public around affected areas and supported safe movement away from areas of risk. Remained available throughout the evening as the situation developed. Our volunteers remained deployed until approximately 1:00am, when, following the reduction in operational requirements, the team stood down and returned from the incident. This was a significant and distressing incident for those directly affected, and our primary concern throughout the deployment was the safety and welfare of the local community. NSCR would like to thank the emergency services and other agencies involved for their continued work throughout the incident, as well as the residents and members of the public who followed safety advice and worked with responders. Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by the fire and those whose homes and possessions have been impacted.
